Laboratory- and Servicecenter LSC Gelsenkirchen

of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems

The Laboratory- and Servicecenter LSC Gelsenkirchen of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems is specialised on the development of industrial relevant processes for the production of silicon thin film solar cells, silicon heterojunction and multicrystalline solar cells.

It comes with two excellently equipped technology areas and extensive measurement setups for the characterization of thin films and solar cells.

The formation of the lab has been initialised and funded in 2000 by the local government of North Rhine-Westphalia with additional support from the European Union. In 2010 a substantial expansion of the technology area could be carried out due to financial support of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Business Activity Support Program 1 of the German government.

Since March 2001 the Laboratory- and Servicecenter LSC Gelsenkirchen as well as the Fraunhofer ISE is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
